How it works

Monthly withholding tax = base tax + (monthly taxable compensation - bracket floor) × marginal rate

  1. Find your monthly taxable compensation bracket.
  2. Take the bracket's fixed monthly base tax.
  3. Compute the excess over the bracket floor.
  4. Multiply the excess by the bracket's marginal rate.
  5. Add base tax and marginal portion to get estimated monthly withholding tax.

Frequently asked questions

Is this exactly what my employer will withhold?

It is an estimate based on the monthly withholding schedule. Actual payroll withholding can differ due to year-to-date adjustments, non-taxable benefits, and employer payroll configuration.

What should I enter as monthly taxable compensation?

Enter compensation income for the month that is taxable for withholding purposes, after applying non-taxable components under BIR rules.

Does this include SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG treatment?

Not directly. This calculator expects already-taxable monthly compensation as input. Contribution treatment can affect taxable compensation and should be validated against current BIR and agency rules.

Can I use this for filing decisions?

Use this as a payroll estimate only. Always verify against current official BIR issuances and consult a qualified tax professional for filing and compliance decisions.
